Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike and the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, on Sunday, disagreed over the spate of insecurity within the state.

Amaechi stated, “Rivers State is in peril, fully. A state the place properties are collected and someone is busy constructing in all places and no person is speaking.
“After I was governor, God is aware of, I did my greatest. I didn’t construct solely roads, I constructed colleges. I didn’t construct solely roads, I constructed electrical energy. I constructed farms. I created employment. Rivers State was not among the many highest unemployed group in Nigeria.
“I felt that you simply employed me. I used to be not your grasp; I used to be your servant. I used to be not a contractor. I paid contractors in order that they will pay their employees and the cash will flow into.
“The explanation why crime is excessive in Rivers State is that unemployment may be very excessive. That the explanation why we had the Songhai Farm. In the present day, the Songhai Farm is gone. That’s the reason we had the Banana Farm that they stopped in Khana (Ogoniland).
“That’s the reason we had fish farms and that’s the reason we had been constructing a farm in Etche. We had been doing all these issues to create employment for the youths. That’s the reason we employed 13,200 lecturers and that’s the reason we despatched our kids abroad to check,” Amaechi said.
However Wike in a press release issued by his Particular Assistant on Media, Kelvin Ebiri, on Sunday, stated Amaechi was indicting his boss and the President, Main Normal Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), figuring out full effectively that the latter was constitutionally saddled with the duty of offering safety for Nigerians.
The assertion learn, “Is unemployment fueling insecurity in Kaduna, Plateau, Borno, Yobe, Ondo, Ebony, Imo, Niger States ruled by the All Progressives Congress (APC)?
“Is he (Amaechi) making an attempt to indict his boss, President Muhammad Buhari, who’s the Commander in Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and who’s constitutionally saddled with the duty to offer safety for Nigerians?
“It’s a well-known proven fact that Amaechi is the one who appoints each Commissioner of Police that has been posted to Rivers State since 2015. So, if there’s any safety failure, he’s in charge.”
